Did you know that Christ actually occupies three different stations, Prophet, Priest, and King. When Christ came the first time He came as a Prophet, Matthew 21:10-11 says:
"When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this? The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”
...and they rejected Him. Mathew 13:57 says
"And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.”
Not unlike the prophets in the Old Testament, they not only rejected His teachings, but put Him to death.
In His present session, Christ is our High Priest. Hebrews 5:10 says:
"...and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek."
And as such, He IS:
1. The Head of the Church (Ephesians 1:22-23)
2. Builder of the Church (Mathew16:18, Acts 4:21; 4:4)
3. Bestower of Spiritual Gifts (Ephesians 4:7-12)
4. Interceder for the Saints (Romans 8:24, Hebrews 7:25)
5. Advocate for the Saints ( Hebrews 9:24, 1 John 2:1, Revelation 12:10).
But soon He will return as King of kings and Lord of lords. Revelation 19:16 says:
"On his robe and on his thigh He has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords."
And we will rule and reign with Him on His throne. Revelation 3:21 also says:
"The one who overcomes, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne."
If you are a born again believer you are already a overcomer as 1 John 5:5 says:
"Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"
Wow, internalize, just let it sink in. Now go tell someone else that they too can be an overcomer. They just need to Believe as stated in Acts 16:31:
"They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved"."
